What is CrossFit?
We are very different.
We're camaraderie and friendship. We're an open and inclusive community -- egos are dropped at the door and the community of support is amazing regardless of levels. We're energy -- high, high energy. We work out together in a coached Workout of the Day (offered multiple times a day), with the music cranked and both mind and body challenged. We're an awesome mix of competitive athletes, office workers, mothers, weekend warriors, executives, teachers, soldiers, coaches, and more. We're fun. And on top of all of that -- we're very, very effective with the best fitness approach there is: CrossFit.
CrossFit Zürich is not your typical fitness center. We're not the kind of place with rows and rows of exercise machines filled with people wearing iPods, keeping to themselves, and quietly going through the same type of workout day after day.

There are ten recognized general physical skills. They are cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, speed, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. You are as fit as you are competent in each of these ten skills. CrossFit aims to improve ones ability in each of these ten skills.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide ... as well as the chosen fitness regime for thousands of people around the world.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. We want you to be ready for anything and to train accordingly.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We've used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don't change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our skiers, runners, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen that has been designed tailored to fit the individual. This is for everyone.
Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed the workouts of CrossFit and distinguished themselves in the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes.
CrossFit also publishes the CrossFit Journal designed to support the CrossFit community detailing the theory, techniques, and practice used by our coaches in gyms such as CrossFit Zurich.
