CrossFit Zurich Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA classes
BJJ originated from Japanese Judo/Jiu-Jitsu, which was brought to Brazil in the mid 1900 and there developed and specialized into a submission-orientated ground fighting art. BJJ includes all kinds of joint locks, muscle squeezers chokes and throws and is mainly based on leverage principles, thus very effective for smaller persons to defeat larger opponents through superior technique.
In the traditional form of BJJ a "gi" (Kimono) is worn, the "no-gi" variant is also part of the training.
BJJ is a very dynamic, both technically and physically demanding martial art which trains agility, flexibility, strength, stamina and endurance, thus a perfect addition to your CrossFit training.
The classes usually consist of a warm up, partner skill and technique exercises and sparring.
